The Greensboro Fire Fighters Club is made up of current and retired firefighters who meet once a month for an outstanding steak dinner served with baked potatoes and salad.

The Original 1920s Clubhouse
The original clubhouse for the organization—then called the Greensboro Fireman’s Club—was located near the area adjacent to the present-day Lewis Recreation Center. Dating back to the 1920s, it served as a central hub for recreational activities, dinners, and special departmental events.
Accessed via an entrance off Pisgah Church Road, the original facility was set back a considerable distance from the main road and featured a kitchen alongside a small meeting hall. It was eventually dismantled to accommodate the construction and layout of Jaycee Park.

Establishment of Air Harbor Road (1977–1980s)
During the 1977 session of the North Carolina General Assembly, the legislature formally passed an act authorizing the City of Greensboro to lease ten acres to the non-profit organization, then known as the Greensboro “Fireman’s” Club.
Now operating as the Greensboro Fire Fighters’ Club, construction on the modern clubhouse at the Air Harbor Road property began in the mid-1980s. It has stood as a cherished gathering space and permanent fixture for active and retired firefighters ever since.
